Top 10 Richest Woman In India-2022

On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, Kotak Private Banking and Hurun India announced the third edition of the reading wealthy women list 2021 based on net net worth as of December 31, 2021.

Women such as Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Falguni Nayar, and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw topped the list and became India’s wealthiest women.

Roshni Nadar Malhotra

HCL Technologies’ chairperson, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, has a net worth of Rs. 84,330 crores. For the second time, Roshni topped the list.

Roshni Nadar is the daughter of billionaire industrialist Shiv Nadar. She attended Vasant Valley School in Delhi and then Northwestern University, where she majored in Communication with a focus on radio, television, and film. Roshni earned her Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management.

Roshni worked for several companies in America before joining HCL, including CNN. Roshni is also active in humanitarian work and serves on the board of the Shiv Nadar Foundation.

Falguni Nayar

Falguni Nayar is the CEO of the beauty and lifestyle brand Nykaa, and she has a net worth of Rs. 57,520 crores. Falguni is a self-made millionaire from India. Nykaa is the first Indian unicorn start-up led by a woman to go public in 2020.

Falguni Nayar was born in Mumbai to a Gujarati family. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and her master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Nayar joined Kotak Mahindra Group in 1993 and worked there for 19 years. In 2012, she left Kotak Mahindra Group and founded Nykaa at the age of 50 with $2 million dollars. As of 10 November 2021, Nykaa is valued at $13 billion.

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw is the executive chairperson and founder of Biocon Limited and Biocon Biologics Limited, a Bangalore-based biotechnology company with a net worth of Rs 29,030 crores.

In 1973, she received her undergraduate degree in zoology from Bangalore University, and in 1975, she received her graduate degree in brewing from the University of Ballarat in Melbourne. She worked as a consultant for a few years before meeting Leslie Auchincloss, the owner of an Irish company called Biocon Biochemicals. Auchincloss hired Mazumdar as a partner in a new venture, Biocon India, in 1978, which produced enzymes for alcoholic beverages, paper, and other products.

Mazumdar was named the Economic Times’ businesswoman of the year in 2004. Mazumdar-Shaw also received the Padma Bhushan award, one of India’s highest civilian honors, in 2005 for her outstanding contributions to industrial biotechnology.

Nilima Motapatri
