An upcoming German epic period mystery horror television series called 1899 was created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. Both Friese and Odar have worked together on the sci-fi series “Dark” and the techno-thriller movie “Who Am I,” and they are currently producing 1899 under the auspices of Dark Ways.
The series’ pre-production officially began in November 2020, while the filming outside of Berlin, Germany, began in May 2021. The complete series’ filming, which also took place in London, United Kingdom, was finished in November 2021.
A group of European immigrants are leaving London on a steamer to begin new lives in New York City, according to the series’ teaser, which was unveiled in June 2022. However, their journey takes an unexpected turn when they come across another migrant ship drifting on the open sea. Their journey to the promised land will become a nightmare-like conundrum because to what they discover on board, which connects each passenger’s past through a web of secrets.
1899 Netflix Release Date
Originally scheduled to debut in 2021, the series was delayed, and it was confirmed in early 2022 that it will be available on Netflix in autumn or winter 2022. Now, 1899 is scheduled to arrive on the platform in 17 November 2022.
The series will consist of eight episodes, with the first episode’s title being The Ship. All of the episodes of this epic drama series will be 60 minutes long. It will be multilingual, with characters from throughout the world speaking in their native tongues.
