Diljit Dosanjh Jogi Movie OTT Release Date (Netflix), Teaser, Star Cast, Plot

Diljit Dosanjh, an Indian actor-singer probably most famous for his Punjabi music, will soon appear in his upcoming movie Jogi, which is based on the 1984 anti-Sikh protests. He previously worked on the Punjabi film “Punjab 1984,” which was also based on a similar theme.

When asked about Jogi, Diljit explained that the subject is very connected to his soul because he grew up hearing about true stories and experiences about the protests and the era. He has appeared in several Hindi films, including Udta Punjab, Phillauri, Welcome to New York, Soorma, Arjun Patiala, Good Newswz, and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari.

Jogi Teaser and Trailer

On Saturday, August 20, 2022, Netflix released a teaser for the upcoming film in September 2022. The teaser is defined as 1984 New Delhi, begins by highlighting the time frame October 31, 2022, and reveals Diljit’s character Jogi, a good person with a happy family.

The following scene depicts the crime occurring throughout Delhi as a result of any Sikh riots; in these conditions, Jogi is recommended to relocate to Punjab so that his family can be safe. Jogi responds by saying they are all his family and he is not leaving.

Essentially, the makers really would like to tell the history of the Sikh community through the Jogi character, who suffered greatly during the anti-Sikh riots and lost approximately 3000 members of the community.

Jogi and his family are the conduits through which the plot of Sikh suffering during the 1984 riots is told. Along with Sukhmani Sadana, Ali Abbas Zafar co-wrote the film’s screenplay.

Jogi Release Date Netflix

The film, produced by Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Kishan Mehra, will be released in September. The filmmakers choose a direct-to-OTT release over a theatrical release. The film will be available on Netflix on September 16, 2022.

Jogi Star Cast

Amyra Dastur co-stars with Diljit Dosanjh and is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, well-known for his work on Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Along with these two stars, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Hiten Tejwani, Paresh, and Kumud Mishra play important roles in the film.
