Kamal Haasan is working on the sequel of 1996 hit Tamil film Indian which grossed 65 crores at the box office. Shankar Shanmugam is directing this film and he has also directed its first part. He has directed many hit movies including Anniyan (2005), Sivaji: The Boss (2007), Enthiran (2010), 2.0, etc
Filmmakers announced Indian 2 on September 2017 and its shooting started in January 2019 but the shoot was stopped in February 2020 because 3 crew members died due to a flashlight falling on the film set.
Then the shooting of the film started again in August 2022 and according to media reports, it will be ready to hit the theaters in 2023 last.
Indian 2 Filmmakers
Director Shankar Shanmugam has written the story & screenplay and Jayamohan, Vamsy Krishna, Lakshmi Saravankumar, and Kabilan Vairamuthu have written the dialogues. Udhayanidhi Stalin and A Subaskaran are producing the film under the banner of Lyca Productions.
Anirudh Ravichander, who composed the song Why This Kolaveri, is handling the music department of the Indian 2 while the cinematography is by Ravi Varman and the film editing is by A. Sreekar Prasad.
Last time Ravi Varman worked in Ponniyin Selvan: Part I and Sreekar Prasad in RRR (2022).

Indian 2 Release Date Theater & OTT
The work of the film is going on and the makers will announce the release date after the completion of the shooting.
If we talk about the OTT platform, then it will be available to watch in online streaming services in 2024, but no digital platform has bought its digital rights yet. Stay tuned to this page for the Indian 2 release date and OTT platforms.
