Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi modification of Tom Hanks’ 1994 Oscar-winning film ‘Forrest Gump.’ Amir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya Akkineni are key players in this Hindi remake.
The film is made by Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios, and directed by Advait Chandan, who also directed Aamir in the musical drama Secret Superstar. The film’s running time is two hours and 50 minutes, which is fairly long in present days.
The controversy of Lal Singh Chaddha
The film Lal Singh Chaddha was subjected to controversy just prior to its cinema release, and the hashtag #boycottlalsinghchaddha trended on Twitter for more than 2 days.
The boycott trend began when some web users discovered a 2015 interview with Kiran Rao, Amir Khan’s ex-wife, in which she stated that they moved abroad due to growing antagonism in the country. Some even assume that Amir Khan mocked Hindu deities and cultures in his blockbuster film PK.
In the midst of the controversy, Amir Khan is actively promoting his film, and in one of his interviews, he stated, “He feels awful that a few people who are saying this, in their hearts, truly think that he is someone who doesn’t like India.”
They think in their hearts, but it is not true. It’s unfortunate that some individuals think this way. That is not correct. Amir Khan also requested that people not boycott my film. “Please watch my film,” he added.
Lal Singh Chaddha OTT Release Date
the OTT release of Laal Singh Chaddha would happen soon, but Aamir politely declined. Aamir Khan has made it absolutely clear that the OTT premiere will not happen anytime soon.
Amir Also, one of the primary reasons why people are less interested in going to theatres is that movies are available on OTT very quickly after they are released in theatres. Aamir stated that he is unaware of the Industry Standards, but he always tries to maintain a 6-month gap.
According to some media reports, Amir Khan Productions has sold the film’s streaming rights to OTT giant Netflix for 160 crores, and the movie will premiere on the OTT platform later this year.
LetsOTT, on the other hand, declared that VOOT Select had acquired LSC rights:
