This Year Mahavir Jayanti will be 4 April 2023. Mahavir Jayanti every year celebrate in the month of March or April.

This is a very special day for Jains and celebrates mostly all over the country by the Jain community. On this day Jains visit the temple and pray to the Lord Mahavira.


Mahavir is also named Vardhaman. He was born in 599 BC, at Kshatriyakund, Bihar, His father was king Chetaka, and his Mother Trisala. 

at the age of 30, he leave luxurious life and started meditating for 12 years for finding peace, the meaning of life also follow Jainism. 

For a well-disciplined life, Mahavir preached Five Vows. These are Ahimsa (Non-violence), Satya (truth), Asteya (Non-stealing), Aparigraha (Non-attachment), and Brahmacharya (Celibacy).

Five Vows mean of LordMahavir-

1- Nonviolence (Ahimsa) causing no harm to the living beings

2- Truthfulness (Satya) to speak the truth

3- Non-stealing (Asteya) not to possess things that do not belong to you

4- Chastity (Brahmacharya) not to indulge in sensual pleasures

5- Non-attachment (Aparigraha) not to get attached to material things.
