An upcoming Hindi and Telugu musical film called Musical School was primarily filmed in Hyderabad and Goa. In 1999, Papa Rao Biyyala, who is best known for helming the short film “Willing to Sacrifice,” wrote and directed it.

About the Music School Movie

It is a heartwarming and enduring movie about two modern and creative teachers named Mary D’Cruz and Manoj who show students who are being led by an unimaginative educational system in the name of Math, Science, and Technology a glimpse of the rich culture and refinement of music and theatre.

All 11 songs for this project were written by legendary maestro Ilaiyaraaja, who also directed the movie. The film’s 11 songs were choreographed by Hollywood choreographer Adam Murray, whose resume includes The King’s Man, Creulla, and Rocketman. Raju Sundram and Chinni Prakash, two Indian choreographers, are also participating.

Three of the musical’s 11 songs—”Do Re Mi,” “I am 16 Going on 17,” and “So Long, Farewell”—come from the beloved and Oscar-winning classic. The renowned composer Ilaiyaraaja recently visited Budapest to record with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and complete the score and music for the film Music School. Kiran Deohans did the cinematography for the movie.

Music School Movie Release Date

The movie will be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12 and 18 in the industry/market section. The movie is anticipated to be released in theatres on November 11, 2022.

Music School Movie Star Cast

Sharman Joshi and Shriya Saran play the lead roles in the movie, which is supported by Yamini Films, a production company based in Hyderabad and run by director Papa Rao Biyyala. Sharman has starred in films like Rang De Basanti, Golmaal, and 3 Idiots, among others.

On the other hand, Shriya Saran has acted in a number of South Indian and Bollywood movies, including Sivaji: The Boss, Santosham, and Drishyam. In addition, Shaan, Prakash Raj, Suhasini Mulay, Benjamin Gilani, Gracy Goswami, Ozu Barua, and Vinay Varma all play significant roles in the movie.
