Tamil superstar Silambarasan T.R., often known as Simbu, is prepared to thrill his fans with a forceful performance in his forthcoming film Path Thala following the huge success of his gangster flick Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu.

The movie, which is being hailed as a high-octane gangster thriller, is a Tamil adaptation of Mufti, a 2019 Kannada film directed by Obeli N. Krishna and starring Siva Rajkumar. It’s interesting to note that Obeli N. Krishan is directing the forthcoming version as well.

Pathu Thanu has been in production for a while, and its original release date was December this year. According to current sources, however, it has been postponed for the next year due to certain shooting delays. The most likely time for the movie’s theatrical debut is in March 2023.

Amazon Prime Video, one of the top streaming services, has bought the post-theatrical streaming rights to the movie. The streamer reportedly paid a staggering sum of Rs. 26 crores to obtain the OTT rights to the Tamil action film. The transaction hasn’t been formally announced, though, as of yet.

Gautham Karthik and Silambarasan co-star in the movie Pathu Thala, which is being made by K.E. Gnanavel’s Studio Green in partnership with Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios. This is the first time two up-and-coming actors in the business have worked together.

Yutha Satham, directed by Ezhil, was where Karthik was last spotted. In his pipeline for 2023, Karthik has “August 16, 1947” alongside Pathu Thala. In addition to Priya Bhavani Shankar, who plays the female lead in the planned remake, other important cast members include Gautham Vasudev Menon, Kalaiyarasan, Teejay Arunasalam, and others.


The central character of the Studio Green play is a police officer who battles a terrifying underworld don. Legendary composer A.R. provided the score and music for the movie. Rahman.

Farook K. Basha is the film’s cinematographer, Praveen K.L. is its editor, and R. The dialogue was written by RS Ramakrishnan, with Shakthi Saravanan directing the action.
