Ranveer Singh Movies List: Hit, Flop And Blockbuster

Ranveer Singh always gives his power pack acting in movies. He is one of the highest-paid Indian actors, having won several awards, including four Filmfare Awards. He began his acting career as the lead in Yash Raj Films’ romantic drama Band Baaja Baaraat. The film was a commercial and critical success and he received a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

He received critical acclaim for his performance as a melancholy thief in the drama film Lootera (2013), and he formed himself as a popular actor through his collaborative projects with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, one of which was Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013).

Singh auditioned for the male lead in Maneesh Sharma’s film Band Baaja Baaraat, a romantic comedy produced by Yash Raj Films, in 2010. Producer Aditya Chopra cast him opposite Anushka Sharma after being impressed by his audition.

Following the success of Band Baaja Baaraat, Singh joined Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, a romantic comedy directed by Maneesh Sharma and co-starring Anushka Sharma. He did play Ricky Bahl, a man who cheats girls for a living but eventually meets his true love. Ladies vs Ricky Bahl did well at the box office.

Singh’s performance in Band Baaja Baaraat amazed Bhansali, who decided to cast him in the film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela.  In this film Ranveer played lead opposite Deepika Padukone. The film was the biggest box office success, grossing $2.02 billion worldwide.

Singh appeared in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Gunday in 2014, along with Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Irrfan Khan as a Bengali criminal. Gunday was Singh’s biggest theatrical opener and it subsequently became a box-office success.

Dil Dhadakne Do (2015) directed by Zoya Akhtar and co-produced by her brother Farhan Akhtar, starred Ramveer Singh alongside Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, and Priyanka Chopra was not perform well. He then worked with Bhansali again in the historical drama Bajirao Mastani (2015), alongside Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra. This film was a massive hit at the box office.

Singh co-starred in Aditya Chopra’s light entertainment Befikre with Vaani Kapoor in 2016 but this film did not perform well at the box office.

After a one-year Singh returned to the big screen as Alauddin Khilji, a brutal Muslim king in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s high-budget historical drama Padmaavat (2018) with co-starring Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. This is one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies of Ranveer.

Singh appeared as the main character corrupt cop in Rohit Shetty’s action romantic Simmba opposite Sara Ali khan and Sonu Sood at the end of the same year. Simmba is the second highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2018.

Singh collaborated again with Zoya Akhtar on Gully Boy (2019) based on the lives of street rap artists Divine and Naezy. Gully Boy received a record 13 Filmfare Awards, and Ranveer Singh won the Best Actor award.

Singh then starred as cricket player Kapil Dev in 83 (2021) a sports drama film based on the 1983 Cricket World Cup. This film received positive reviews but was disastrous theatrically. He also appeared in Jayeshbhai Jordaar’s movie in 2022 but again sing movie gone disaster.
