Why FIFA banned India?

FIFA, the world football regulatory authority, has banned India from undue pressure by a third party. This happened for the first time since the Indian Football Federation was founded in 1937.

Reason Of Banned

The All India Football Federation is now led by a Review Panel of Advisors (COA) assigned by the Indian Supreme Court after the removal of Praful Patel and his executive committee, whose term expired in December 2020.

Furthermore, FIFA The appointment of a Review Panel of Advisors is assumed third-party interference, and it violates FIFA’s statutes, which require all nations to maintain their affairs independently.

How This Ban Effects On Indian Footfall Team

FIFA stated in a statement announcing the suspension of AIFF, “The suspension means that the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2022, scheduled to take place in India on 11-30 October 2022, cannot currently be held in India as planned.”

It is important to note that if the suspension is not lifted and the tournament is moved, it is unknown whether India will be able to compete because they originally qualified on the basis of being the tournament’s host.

The men’s national team was scheduled to play friendlies against Singapore and Vietnam, but it is unclear whether these games will take place. When FIFA suspends a federation, the country concerned may be barred from participating in international matches.

Club teams will also be barred from competing in continental tournaments. Furthermore, they will be unable to sign any new foreign players; however, players already on the roster will be able to continue to represent the teams. As a result, ATK Mohun Bagan, who was scheduled to play in the AFC Cup on September 7, will be unable to do so.

Gokulam Kerala FC will also be unable to compete in the AFC Women’s Club Championship next week, as will the senior national team in the SAFF Women’s Championship next month.

When FIFA suspends a federation, any domestic tournaments that take place are not recognized. As a result, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and FIFA will not recognize the competitions in India.

How Indian Football Team Play Again International Game

The only silver lining in FIFA’s decision to suspend AIFF is that the governing body has stated that it is hopeful of a positive outcome because it is in contact with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

“FIFA is evaluating the next steps for the tournament and will refer the matter to the Council Agency if and when necessary. FIFA is in constant constructive contact with India’s Ministry of Youth And sports and remains hopeful that a favorable outcome to the case can still be obtained ” FIFA statement.

Also “The suspension will be removed once an establishing a review panel of administrators to make the assumption the capabilities of the AIFF Executive Committee has been overturned and the AIFF administration takes back total control of the AIFF’s daily affairs,” according to FIFA’s official statement.

The FIFA suspension will be lifted once the All India Football Federation (AIFF) adheres completely to the FIFA Statutes.
