World Environmental Health Day 2022: Date, Theme, History, Significance

World Environment Health Day is commemorated annually on September 26. The purpose of this day is to increase public awareness of the state of our environment.

World Environmental Health Day 2022 Theme

“Strengthening Environmental Health Systems for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals” is the theme of World Environment Health Day in 2022.

History Of World Environmental Health Day

The International Federation of Environmental Health was created in 2011. (IFEH). It is an organisation with 44 members. The protection of our environment was the primary goal of this day. The first IFEH meeting and Environmental Health Youth Summit were held in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, in 2011, which marked the beginning of World Environment Health Day celebrations.

Public health and environmental health are related. Every nation must do effort on its own level to enhance environmental health. The nations must cooperate to reduce waterborne illnesses, harmful chemical exposure, and illness prevention, among other things.

For more than 32 years, IFEH has been actively striving to improve the health problems that continually endanger human well-being and to advance the study of environmental health.

World Environmental Health Day Significance

The importance of World Environment Day cannot be overstated. The World Health Organization (WHO) claims that by creating better settings, we may reduce the world disease burden by 25%. Clean air, sound farming practises, good sanitation, a sanitary environment, a stable climate, clean water, radiation protection, safe chemical usage, healthy and safe workplaces, and conserved nature are all necessary components of a healthy environment.

The World Environmental Health Day gives people the chance to learn about environmental health problems and solutions.
