World Food Day HIstory & Aim

Every year, World Food Day is celebrated on 16 Oct. Dr. Pal Romany, an Agriculture and Food Minister, created the first world food day in November 1979.

It is an opportunity to teach people about farming and to provide food for the hungry. The International Fund for Agricultural Development, World Food Programme, and World Health Organization organize events worldwide on this day.

Wold Food Programme was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020 for its efforts in fighting hunger and conflict in war zones, and the principal role it played in food programs.

The theme of world food day changes every year, but one thing remains constant: you must provide food for those who are hungry. We should all pledge that we will always be available to help hungry people online, and not just other food items, on this world food day.
