Baahubali: Crown of Blood Announced- Animated series based on film

Director SS Rajamouli recently set the internet abuzz with his announcement of a new animated series titled Baahubali: Crown of Blood. Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Rajamouli shared a captivating video teaser, featuring the series’ title emerging from smoke and embers, accompanied by the resounding chants of Baahubali. In his announcement, Rajamouli confirmed the imminent release of the series trailer, stirring excitement among fans worldwide.

Baahubali: Crown of Blood is poised to be a spin-off of Rajamouli’s epic saga, Baahubali, which gained monumental success with the release of its two feature films, Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017). Starring an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, and Ramya Krishnan, the Baahubali films garnered widespread acclaim for their grandeur, storytelling, and visual effects.

This isn’t the first venture into animated storytelling for the Baahubali franchise. In 2017, an animated series titled Baahubali: The Lost Legends premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Created by Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks, the series found a home on television through Colours TV, further expanding the universe of Baahubali.

However, not all endeavors in extending the Baahubali universe have come to fruition. A prequel series, Baahubali: The Beginning, co-produced by Rajamouli, was slated for release on Netflix but faced setbacks leading to its shelving. Actress Mrunal Thakur was initially cast as Sivagami in the series, only to be replaced by Wamiqa Gabi later on. Gabi expressed her hopes for the project’s revival, reflecting on her training for the role amidst changing directorial circumstances.

Despite setbacks in the realm of television, the Baahubali franchise has seen success in literary adaptations. The prequel novel, The Rise of Sivagami, provided insights into the origins of key characters, complemented by additional literary works such as Chaturanga, Queen of Mahishmathi, and the graphic novel Baahubali: Battle of the Bold. In 2018, the franchise reached international audiences with Akira Fukaya’s adaptation of Baahubali into a Japanese manga.

Further diversifying its reach, the Baahubali franchise ventured into the gaming world with the release of Baahubali: The Game in 2017 by Moonfrog. The mobile game offered fans an interactive experience immersed in the world of Baahubali, expanding the franchise’s engagement beyond traditional media platforms.

As anticipation mounts for the release of Baahubali: Crown of Blood, details regarding the cast, crew, and storyline remain under wraps, leaving fans eager for more glimpses into this latest addition to the beloved saga. With Rajamouli at the helm once again, the animated series promises to deliver another captivating chapter in the enduring legacy of Baahubali.
