He was born in a poor family on 19 May 1974 in Budhana, Uttar Pradesh, India, and Nawaz completed his college degree from the Gurukula Kangri University which is located in Haridwar.

After his college degree, he took acting classes at the National School of Drama which is located in Delhi.

Nawaz started his career in Bollywood with the movie Sarfarosh (1999) in which the lead actor was Aamir Khan and Nawaz had a small role.

Nawaz then got small roles in many Hindi movies including Shool (1999), Jungle (2000), Munnabhai MBBS (2003), Black Friday (2000), New York (2009), and Peepli Live (2010).

He got real recognition in Bollywood from the movies Kahaani (2011) and Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) in which Nawaz played an important role. Salman Khan is also crazy about Nawaz’s acting and in 2015 he played the role of a Pakistani reporter in Salman Khan’s super hit movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

He played the main villain opposite Varun Dhawan in the 2015 hit movie Badlapur, after which he appeared in Manjhi The Mountain Man (2015) as the male lead.

Nawaz impressed the filmmakers and audiences with his acting and his fan following is increasing continuously.
