Balwinder Safri, a Punjabi singer, died today at the age of 63. (July 27). The singer had become a household name and a legend in the Punjabi music industry.
According to reports, the Pao Bhangra singer was admitted to the hospital in April due to heart problems and was then scheduled for a triple bypass.
However, even after the surgery, the doctor discovered some complications and recommended another surgery. Unfortunately, Balwinder remained in a coma for some time after the last surgery because the CT revealed brain damage as well.
According to the reports, Balwinder was discharged from the hospital after 86 days because he was on his way to recovery, but he couldn’t survive and died today.
As soon as the news surfaced, fans couldn’t help but express their sorrow and how iconic vocalist Balwinder changed the landscape of the music business.
Diljit Dosanjh paid respects to the late singer on Twitter shortly after hearing of his passing. He posted a photo of Safri with the words “Waheguru” and an emoji of folded hands.
