Red One OTT Release Date Amazon Prime, Star Cast, Trailer, Plot, Makers, Budget

Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. “The Rock,” and Chris Evans, two of Hollywood’s most popular stars, have begun filming on their next movie, “Red One.” Jake Kasdan, best known for directing the famous “Jumanji” franchise, will helm the picture, which is billed as an action adventure Christmas film.

This is the first instalment in a potential franchise recreating holiday mythology, with a screenplay written by Fast & Furious scribe and producer Chris Morgan and based on an original story by Hiram Gracia.

Dwyane Johnson plays Callum Drift, while Chris Evans plays Jack O’Malley in the film. Johnson was most recently seen in the superhero flick Black Adam, while Evans, best known for his role as Captain America in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, was most recently seen in the action thriller film The Gray Man, co-starring Ryan Gosling.

Along with the casting and filming announcements, Dwayne Johnson released a photo of himself and Chris Evans in a toy store full to the brim with books, games, and figurines on November 7, 2022. While Johnson is dressed in a skin-tight black and red leather jacket and pants ensemble, Evans is dressed in a more comfortable brown and black ensemble.

Santa Claus and Mr. Claus are played by Oscar winner J.K. Simmons and Emmy nominee Bonnie Hunt, respectively. Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, Wesley Kimmel, and others are also on board.

In October 2022, filming for “Red One” began in Atlanta. The film is a collaboration between Seven Bucks Productions, Amazon Studios, Amazon Prime Original Films, The Detective Agency, and Chris Morgan Productions.

Jonson, Kasdan, Morgan, Hiram Gracia, Dany Gracia, and Melvin Mar are the executive producers of the Christmas franchise.

In terms of release, instead of a theatrical release, the film will be published straight on Amazon Prime Video, after Amazon Studios won the movie in a fierce bidding war. It will be available in over 240 countries and territories globally for Christmas 2023.
