There have been many great revolutionaries, freedom fighters, and social reformers in India who made significant contributions to the cause of freedom from the British, but very few people know about them.
For some time filmmakers have been making movies on such great revolutionaries and now director Mahesh Manjrekar will direct a film based on the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar known as Veer Savarkar.
Savarkar was a lawyer, politician, poet, writer, and playwright who wanted to make India a Hindutva nation, he respected all religions and was also against the orthodox trend. He was also sentenced to life imprisonment twice for conspiring to kill the British Collector.
Filmmakers have done a lot of research on unheard facts related to Savarkar’s life and through this movie, his life is ready to be shown on the big screen.
Sandeep Singh, Sam Khan, and Anand Pandit are producing this biographical movie under the banner of Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Legend Studios written by Rishi Virmani while Anirban Chatterjee handles the cinematography, Sanjay Sankala is editing the film, Hitesh Modak, and Shreyas Puranik are composing the music.

Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Release Date Theater & OTT
The much-anticipated “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” Hindi version has been certified ‘UA’ by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on March 21, 2024. This historical epic boasts a runtime of 178 minutes and 31 seconds, equivalent to 2 hours, 58 minutes, and 31 seconds.
Set for a theatrical release on March 22, 2024, in India, “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” promises to captivate audiences with its portrayal of the life and legacy of the iconic freedom fighter Veer Savarkar. With the ‘UA’ certification, the film is deemed suitable for audiences above the age of 12, ensuring that viewers can witness the inspiring tale of Savarkar’s struggle for independence and his enduring impact on India’s history.
Makers confirmed the release date by sharing an announcement video:
Talking about the OTT platform then it will be available to watch on an online streaming service after 60 days of theater release but on which platform the film will be available, the makers have not yet revealed the details.

In the film, Randeep Hooda plays the character of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Nick Nag plays the character of Young Damodar, Ed Robinson plays the character of Timmy, Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial will also be seen in important roles.
Randeep was last seen in Netflix’s web series Cat and this is Lokhande’s third film after Manikarnika (2019) & Baaghi 3 (2020).
