Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, a film based on the DC comic character Aquaman, is set to hit the theaters on December 2023 and stars Jason Momoa in the lead role. The first part of the film was released in 2018 and was a blockbuster grossing $1.149 billion at the box office on a budget of $160–200 million.
James Van, who directed Aquaman (2018), is also the director of the second part and has previously directed the hit movies The Conjuring (2013), Furious 7 (2015), The Conjuring 2 (2016), etc.
The film is being produced by Rob Kwan, Peter Safran, and James Van under the banners of DC Studios, The Safran Company, and Atomic Monster Productions. Safran mostly produces DC Extended Universe movies and his next upcoming project is the DC superhero movie Blue Beetle.
Warner Bros Pictures is the distributor and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick wrote the screenplay while Don Burgess handled the cinematography.
Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom Budget & Plot
In this $205 million budget superhero film, Aquaman is the child of a sea queen and a human, who defeated his cousin in the first part and became the king of the sea. Most of the fighting in the previous part took place under the sea, but this time Aquaman will team up with Batman to fight new enemies on land. The movie will be available to watch on the ott platform in February 2024 and the makers will share the ott release date only after it hits the theatres. Its digital rights are yet to be bought by the online streaming service
