Gladiator 2 is a sequel to the film Gladiator (2000) Which is being directed by British Academy of Film and Television Arts winner Ridley Scott.
Let us tell you that the first part of this upcoming film by Ridley Scott was released in 2000 and was one of the highest-grossing Hollywood films of that year with a box office collection of $503.2 million.
However, after the success of the film, the makers confirmed that they will make a sequel very soon.
In September 2003, Ridley Scott announced that the script was complete and its story takes place fifteen years after the rule of the Praetorian Guards over Rome and an aging Lucius who is searching for the truth about his biological father.
Gladiator 2 was shelved several times before filming began due to a weak story and financial difficulties, and the script was finally rewritten by David Scarpa in November 2021.
The filming started in June 2023, but due to the injuries of six crew members during the shooting and the SAG-AFTRA strike in July, the work of the film started again in August this month.
