Kannada film industry’s famous director, writer, and actor Rishab Shetty is making a sequel to Kantara (2022). Now the makers are ready to release the first look of Kantara Chapter 1 on 27 November 2023 at 12:25 PM.
In an interview, he said, “Part 2 will come next year. The idea came to my mind while I was shooting for Kantara. It is because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. Currently, we are in the middle of digging into more details. As the research is still underway, it would be very early to reveal details about the film.”
On 20 February 2022, Rishab was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for this Kantara and after receiving this award, the actor thanked everyone and wrote a note “I dedicate this award to our Daiva Nartakaru, People of Karnataka, Power star Puneeth Rajkumar and Legendary Bhagavan Sir,”
Made with a budget of 16 crores, this film impressed the audience and was the biggest hit of 2022 with a box office collection of 450 crores.
Now the exact budget of Kantara 2 will be known only after the shooting is completed because the film may cost more than before but according to some reports, its budget will be around 30-40 crores. Rishab says that the second part will be much better than the first part and the audience will like it very much.
Kantara Chapter 1 Star Cast
Rashib Shetty will be seen again in the role of Kaadubettu Siva. In contrast, Kishore as Muralidhar ( Deputy Range Forest Officer), Achyuth Kumar as Devendra Suttooru, Sapthami Gowda as Leela, Pramod Shetty as Sudhakar, Swaraj Shetty as Guruva (Shiva’s cousin), Deepak Rai Panaaje as Sundara, and Chandrakala Rao as Sheela (Sundara’s Wife) will be seen in their supporting role again in Kantara 2 and Urvashi Rautela can be seen doing item songs in it. the other cast will be revealed by the makers soon.
Whether Rajinikanth will act in this film or not is yet to be confirmed. When the media asked Rishab a question about Rajinikanth in Part 2, he only smiled and did not answer but Rajinikanth liked Kantara’s story and Rishabh’s acting very much and along with giving a review of the film on Twitter, both of them met personally and talked about the Kantara.

Directed and written by Rishab Shetty, Kantara 2 is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films. Distributed by KRG Studios, Arvind S. Kashyap is handling the cinematography while K. M. Prakash and Pratheek Shetty Editing.
