Tamil moviegoers are extremely eager to watch how the second part of the magnum opus, “Ponniyin Selvan,” would turn out as the first part is receiving fantastic reviews from both spectators and critics.
Ponniying Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam, a six-time national cinema award winner, was produced on a gigantic budget of Rs 500 crore. Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Trisha, Karthi, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi are just a few of its A-list stars.

Power struggles are the main theme of PS1, which is mostly focused on Vanthiyathevan (Portrayed by Karthi). According to reports, Ponniyin Selvan (Both Parts) director Mani Ratnam shot the movie in under 150 days. Although it was initially planned to be a single feature, it was eventually divided into two. All five Indian languages—Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada—have seen the release of Part 1 in theatres. And the Tamil moviegoers are showing an unbelievable amount of interest in the film.
Ponniyin Selvan Part Two Release Date
According to sources, the second installment’s post-production work is now underway. Mani Ratnam recently stated in a media interview that Part 2 has already begun and that there will be a gap of six to nine months following the release of Part One.
Therefore, based on Ratnam’s statement, we can infer that Ponniyin Selvan Part Two will be released in theaters in the summer of 2023. A formal announcement is still pending, so keep checking back for any updates on Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus part 2.
