Upcoming Malayalam language horror film Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer is a pan India film and will be released in English, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, and Kannada as well as Chinese, French, Korean, Italian, Russian, Indonesian, and Japanese languages.
Philips and the Monkey Pen (2013) fame Rojin Thomas is directing this film starring Jayasurya, Anushka Shetty, and Jiyad Irani.
The story of this horror film written by R. Ramanand is based on Kadamattathu Kathanar, a priest living in Kadamattam. Kathanar has some supernatural powers.
The makers are making Kathanar in two parts and the principal photography of the first part started from the beginning of April 2023. Its producer Gokulam Gopalan is producing under the banner of his production company Sree Gokulam Movies.
