Maidan is a biographical football sports drama film and the shooting of this film started on 19 August 2019 but the work was stopped in March 2020 due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.
Then the shooting of the film started again in 2022, whose story was written by Ritesh Shah, and the screenplay was done by Saiwyn Quadras. Oscar Award Winner Singer A. R. Rahman is giving its music and Zee Studios is distributing the film worldwide. The film is being produced by Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla under Zee Studios and Bayview Projects.
The work on the film is now complete and is ready to hit the theaters in May 2023.

Maidaan Release Date Theater
Based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, the film depicts the best time of the Indian football team(1952–1962). At that time the Indian team was at its peak after defeating many foreign football teams. Releasing in theaters on 10 April 2024 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages, Maidaan will witness many unheard stories of Syed’s life.

Maidaan OTT Release Date
Maidaan is being backed by Zee Studios and the film will be available to watch on the online streaming app Zee5 in june 2024. The makers haven’t announced the OTT release date yet and it will be revealed after 2 weeks of hitting the theatres.

The first teaser of Maidan is out on March 30, which opens with the Indian team playing football without shoes at the 1952 Summer Olympics. Some glimpses of Ajay Devgan’s character’s past as a coach in the film have also been seen in the teaser.
