Bhushan Kumar, the owner of India’s largest music and production company T-Series, is making a biopic on their late father Gulshan Kumar. The name of this upcoming biographical film is Mughal and it was announced on 17 March 2017 by sharing a poster.
Jolly Lalab series fame writer and director Subhash Kapoor has written the story of this film and he is also directing it.
Initially, Akshay Kumar was offered to play the lead role in Mughal but Akshay did not say yes to the project. Then before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Aamir Khan announced that he will work in the Gulshan Kumar biopic being produced by Bhushan Kumar.
In an interview given to the media, Bhushan Kumar said- “Many people often ask me about Mogul, and when are you making this film, but I am in no hurry to make this film based on my father’s life. It is more than a project for me, it is a dream. I will definitely make it this year or in the next few years. Yes, there is no time limit as to when to start working on this project. But I promise it will be made in due time. We are yet to finalize the shooting schedule and once finalized the work will start as soon as possible”.
According to some reports, the makers were about to start the shooting of this film after Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha but now director Subhash Kapoor is working on the upcoming Jolly Lalab 3 first and the shooting of Mughal may start in 2024.
