Set to release in 2024, The Intern is a Hindi remake of the 2015 comedy-drama Hollywood film of the same name starring Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.
Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, this film was announced by Deepika Padukone with late actor Rishi Kapoor in 2021. According to some media reports, the film’s shooting may start after the release of Fighter starring Deepika and Hrithik Roshan.
Directed by director Nancy Meyers, Hollywood’s The Intern starred Robert De Niro, Anne Hathaway, and Rene Russo in the lead roles. With a budget of $35 million, the film was a super hit with a box office collection of $194.6 million.
The story of the film is based on a 70-year-old widower who becomes a senior intern in a fashion company and develops an unexpected friendship with the CEO.

Earlier, Rishi Kapoor was chosen as the lead actor along with Deepika Padukone in the Hindi movie Intern but after Rishi’s passing, Amitabh Bachchan is playing the lead role with Deepika.
Actress Neena Gupta, who has impressed the audience with her acting in the high-rated television series Panchayat (2018-2024) and comedy movie Badhaai Ho (2018), is also playing a supporting role.

Badhaai Ho (2018) and Lust Stories 2 (2023) fame director Amit Ravindernath Sharma’s The Intern is jointly produced by Sunir Kheterpal and Deepika Padukone under the banner of Warner Brothers India, Ka Productions and Azure Entertainment.
Aseem Bajaj has joined this film as a cinematographer. He is known for cinematography in House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths (2021) and Parched (2015).
Bollywood Movie The Intern Release Date
The makers were initially planning to release this Hindi remake in 2022 but due to some reasons, the date was postponed due to delay in making the film.
According to some reports, after completing the shooting of the film, the makers can release the Intern in theaters in December 2024, but for now, the release date is yet to be announced.
