Eid al-Adha also known as Eid of Qurbani or Bakra Eid in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan will be celebrated on 29 June in 2023.
This holy festival falls every year 90 days after Eid ul Fitr during Dhu al-Hajja, the last month of Hijri.
According to Islamic belief, on this day Hazrat Ibrahim was going to sacrifice his son Hazrat Ismail on the orders of God, then Allah gave life to his son, and asked him to sacrifice an animal, due to which sheep or goat are sacrificed in Eid al-Adha festival and all Muslims distribute meat to each other.
It is also written in the Quran instead of giving Hauz-e-Qusa, pray for Allah and do sacrifice.
In the Muslim religion, it is believed that by sacrificing an animal on this day, a person becomes very close to God.
