Prithviraj Sukumaran is directing the upcoming Malayalam film Empuraan and its shooting is going to start in August 2023 near the sea. The filmmakers announced the film in August 2022 by sharing a short video.
This is the second part of Prithviraj’s directorial career debut film Lucifer, which had a box office collection of 175 crores in 2019 with a budget of 30 crores and was one of the biggest hits of Malayalam.
Prithviraj is also a very good actor and was last seen in Jana Gana Mana (2022) and Kaduva (2022). He is also playing the role of a villain in the upcoming most awaited Telugu film Salaar.
Talking about Empuraan, the makers and crew of its first part are working on this film again. The story is written by Murali Gopi and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
Today, on October 5, 2023, actor Mohanlal shared the shooting information from his social media account 21 minutes ago. Makers are shooting the film in 5 languages which include Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada Telugu.

Distributed by Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, the film’s cinematography is handled by Sujith Vasudev, editing is by Samjith Muhammad, and music is composed by Deepak Dev.

Mohanlal Vishwanathan will again be seen in his character Khureshi Abram / Stephen Nedumpally and the story of the film will also be based on Abram.
Manju Varrier is playing the character of Priyadarshini Ramdas Nair, Prithviraj Sukumaran is playing the character of Zayed Masood, Tovino Thomas is playing the character of Jithin Ramdas, Sachin Khedekar is playing the character of P. K. Ramdas and Fazil is playing the character of Nedumbali.
Whether Vivek Oberoi is working in this film or not, its details are yet to be revealed but according to some reports, Vivek is playing an important role again.

Makers shared the first 3 minutes 11-second video of the film on 18th November 2018, in which Mohanlal’s bodyguard is talking to a businessman on the phone and he is threatening the bodyguard but after getting down from the helicopter, Mohanlal scares the businessman by telling his name on the phone and gets into the car.
On 17 August 2022, the makers shared another video in which Mohanlal and the filmmakers are sitting together in a hotel room and talking about the film.
Release Date Theater
Made with a budget of more than 70 crores, this film is still in the under-production stage and shooting will be completed at the end of 2023. So get ready to watch Empuraan in theaters in early 2024 and makers will announce its release date soon. Apart from this, Mohan Lal’s film Malaikottai Valiban is going to hit theaters soon.
