Telugu film Palasa 1978 fame director Karuna Kumar is directing the pan India film Matka based on a real incident that took place between 1958-1982 in the Visakhapatnam city of Andhra Pradesh.
The film was launched on 27th July 2023 in Hyderabad and the makers shared a motion poster along with the details of the crew members and star cast.
The shooting of the film may start in August 2023 and will be completed in the coming few months.

Telugu actor and producer Nagendra Babu’s son Varun Tej is playing the lead role. He has previously acted in the lead roles in hit films such as Fidaa (2017), Tholi Prema (2018), Gaddalakonda Ganesh (2019), F2 (2019), and F3 (2022).
His action film Gandeevadhari Arjuna is also going to be released on 25 August 2023.

Mohan Cherukuri and Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala are producing the film under the banner of Vyra Entertainments.
